Just when the films started to look as if they were made from studio assembly lines lacking in any originality, along comes Pulp Fiction, the highly anticipated film from writer/director Quentin Tarantino. Tarantino has become one of the industrys rising talents, creating films that are truly one of a kind. Tarantino's films are filled with such interesting characters & plots that it gives audiences a fresh new take on movies as a source of entertainment.

There is no better example of this unique and creative style of film making than Pulp Fiction. Tarantino, cleverly combines the colorful & humorous dialogue between the numerous characters in the film, with the violence that plays throughout the film. Even though each character has different motivations that make them act as they do, Tarantino somehow allows the characters to interact in a manner that each individual action is followed by a logical consequence, resulting in the fast-paced manner in which the film travels.

Tarantino begins the film by introducing the viewers to two small time hoods known only as "Pumpkin", played by Tim Roth, and "Honey Bunny", played by Amanda Plummer. The two discuss the difficulties in living the criminal life in the nineties. They decide that unlike liquor stores or banks, a coffee shop, in which they currently occupy, is a place they could rob without any aggravation from the cops. Just as they leap from their seats with guns in hand the action is suddenly stopped. Tarantino hasgotten our attention.

The credits roll by and soon Tarantino directs the viewers to a Chevy making its way down an LA street. Inside the car we are introduced to Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson), a couple of veteran hitmen driving to their next "job." Both men work for Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames), a crime boss involved in, among other things, fixing of prize fights. Wallace's wife, Mia (Uma Thurman), is entrusted to Vincent as the big man attends to some business out of town. Vincent then becomes responsible for Mia's well being, a task that becomes harder than he thought as their night progresses. A boxer named Butch Coolidge (Bruce Willis) enters the picture.

Butch crosses Wallace by winning a fight he had promised to lose on purpose. He winds up a hunted man, but through some unusual circumstances, is the one that encounters the men bent on killing him.  The film's funniest moments occur when Vincent & Jules must get rid of a dead body. They call for professional help. Enter Winston Wolf (Harvey Keitel), damage control extraordinaire hired to supervise clean up and to create a suitable alibi.

Jules & Vincent end up going to breakfast together. They are eating in the same resturant as Pumpkin & Honey Bunny at the beginning of the film. In fact it's the same time, only from Jules & Vincent's perspective this time. Pumpkin & Honey Bunny proceed to rob everyone, but Jules ends up saving the day. He explains that on any other day he would have killed them, but today he's gonna let them go. Pumpkin and Honey Bunny leave, & Vincent and Jules are not far behind. Thus concludes the divine masterpiece of filmmaking that is know as "Pulp Fiction."
