I am junior in college studying social work. I got into pen pal-ing in high school and still have one I still regularly write to. (Several have come and go.) I love having deep and authentic conversations. I also love learning so someone who is completely different from me is awesome. I love gaining new perspectives on things so come one come all. My ideal pen pal is someone I can discuss current events, interesting articles I read and ask deep, existential questions of. But I also love talking about pop culture, music, reality tv and other shallow things.

Preferences: Male or female or anything outside of or in between that. If you live in the US we can totally do traditional snail mail or email. If you live outside the US I’d prefer to start out with email and if you don’t fall off the face of the earth we can switch to traditional letter swap.

I guess you can say I’m horribly bookish, but not as much as I wish to be. I’ve always been obsessed with reading other people’s letters, like Diego Rivera’s and Frida Khalo’s, Vita Sackville-West’s and Virginia Woolf’s, and even Saint-Exupéry’s, Kafka’s and Nabokov’s. However it always made me feel a little guilty, to read something I wasn’t supposed to. I would love to have the chance to exchange my own letters with a new friend. I’m looking for a snail-mail pen-pal only, since it’s important to me to actually write a letter. I love music as well, and I’m willing to hear and give you endless music recommendations. I like movies and TV shows as well (well I’m writing this I’m impatiently waiting for Avatar: The Last Airbender to charge) and art. I’m not a great artist, but I’ll try to make you as many drawings, playlists, and collages as I can manage. I know a little about photography too. I hope to publish a book someday, if I ever get around to actually write it. I can speak English and Spanish, and I’m currently learning French, and even though it’s harder than it seems, I’m loving the experience to learn it. I love the space and science as well, to be honest every topic is interesting to me if the person is interesting and passionate enough. I wish to have a friend that feels like s/he can tell me anything, no matter how small or big that thing appears to be.

Preferences: 16-26. I’m a bisexual girl, and even though I’m not looking anything romantic please don’t write to me if that’s a problem to you. Nothing disrespectful, please.

Hi there! My name is Ashley, I am 16 (17 next month!) and I am currently living in Canada!

I love to travel and learn languages and about other cultures!! I also enjoy reading classic novels and I love action and adventure movies!

Even if you think you might be different from me, don’t hesitate to contact me! I love learning about new interests and things that I didn’t even know about before!!

I have no specific requirements for penpals, I just want to meet someone I can vibe with! I prefer to talk in English and Spanish, or Portuguese, French, Italian, German, Russian, Dutch or Greek however if you speak a language that I didn’t mention, we can still talk and I would love to learn your language!

I am looking forward to meeting some great people and hope to hear from some of you soon!!!

Hi there! I’m Erin, I’m 20 and from Brisbane, Australia.

My hobbies include: Reading (My favourite books include The Kingkiller Chronicles, Into the Wild and The Book Thief.) Writing, Sewing (Half my clothes are homemade, the other half found at thrift shops) as well as thinking deeply about the universe. I’ve recently been getting into philosophical lectures/speeches by people like Alan Watts and Terence McKenna. I’m really interested in a lot of the topics they discuss.

In the new year I am planning a few big life changes. A sort of “experiment” you might call it. One is to step away from consumerism by buying no unnecessary material objects. Things like food and items necessary to my job are the only things I’ll purchase. I want the vast majority of my money to be spent on experiences that better me as a person. My second change is to severely cut back on my use of technology in order to pursue what I believe is a more meaningful existence. Because of this I want to surround myself with fellow creatives and people who have passion in life or ideas on society that generally don’t fit with the mindwashed norm.

Since I won’t be on the internet much I’ll have plenty of time for snail mail and the occasional little package and would love to find people around my age who want to do the same. It’d be great if you lived in Australia too because that makes letters a lot quicker and easier, but if I connect with someone overseas then so be it! This is a very roundabout way of saying I’d love to find people I can be inspired by and are dancing their own dance through this world.

Apologies for the long submission, but if you feel like becoming my penpal you can introduce yourself first through email or my blog. You can reach me at:

That’s me on the right, in the wedding dress!

Name: RayRay
Age: 28
Location: CT, USA

Hello all! I’m looking for a snail mail penpal, preferably 25+ but I’ll talk to anyone over 18. I’d much rather penpals be within the US, as international postage is expensive, but I’m flexible. Unfortunately I can only read/write in English.

Hobbies include crocheting, reading, board games, anime/manga, videogames. I’m currently teaching myself ASL and how to sew, and slowly getting into yoga. I love zombies, Dragon Age, aquariums, and pizza.

I’ve been married for three years now but just had the wedding last month. I live in a tiny one bedroom apartment with my husband and three rats, but I’m hoping to build up my family soon, whether it be more rats, a dog, or even a baby.

I would love to exchange letters, maybe even small goodies. I tend to write long letters, and would really appreciate it if my penpals did the same. One of my favorite things is making lasting friendships through snail mail.

Please feel free to contact me through tumblr ( @fat-tanuki )
or email and tell me a little about yourself!
