Hello! My name is Cora, I’m 23 years old and from Germany.
A few things to get out of the way because they are often uncomfortable to talk about but somehow important if you want to get to know me: I’ve been diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder and “depressive episodes” (I don’t know the correct English term). I’m also a (probably) grey(bi)romantic asexual, so I’m really, really not into dirty jokes and smutty fanfiction or – to be quite honest – shipping in general, so if you find that to be a majority of your communication, we probably aren’t a good pen pal match 😀
I’m a German and Scandinavian studies student at university, which makes it not much of a surprise that I am really interested in literature and languages but also in humanity in general: different cultures, different mindsets, different ideals. In short: I am fascinated by different human beings and their individual stories.
I love Harry Potter and Middle-earth, reading, writing, going on walks (nature helps me calm down and I find peace there), watching nature documentaries on Netflix and playing board games with my friends. I’m also a new vegan (since May) and beginner yogi – tips are appereciated!
This probably sounds weird to most of you, but apart from the mentioned documentaries I’m not really into TV/movies or music. Most of the time I don’t feel like watching or listening to anything – I enjoy silence. If I am in the mood, my favourite TV shows are Doctor Who, Sherlock and Sense8, I don’t really have favourite movies because I hardly rewatch them and I mostly listen to indie/folk or classical music.
I am looking for a pen pal around my age who is interested in writing real letters and just exchanging life stories, advice, everyday wonders etc; maybe the occasional mini gift for birthdays or holidays.
While I don’t insist on super quick answers, I am looking for a long-term and somehow consistent letter friendship.
A huge part of my recovery from mental illness is learning to have a more positive view of the world and I would love to write to someone who’s trying to do the same so we can encourage one another.
I can write to you in English or German (or French, if you can bear with mistakes, I haven’t used my French for a few years) and will begin learning Norwegian in autumn, so if you speak Norwegian and would like to help me learning the language, that would be amazing – but it is not a must-do.
Please contact me through my tumblr ask box (accioadvcntures) so we can message each other for a bit and see if we “click” before we exchange addresses.
I hope to hear from you soon! 🙂
